I have to be honest and admit that I'm not sure what I prefer... Bathing with children is of course an argument, but today I don't sit on the edge of the bathtub for that, rather on the floor - or am I even standing there? I'll pay attention to that. What I actually wanted to say: it's not bad and both are fine and you have to like it. Since the screed is not yet laid, you still have the chance to change it (later not) - whether for a fee or just like that.

Hello Hello

As it is installed, that's already good.
The tub stands on the raw floor, no possibility of sinking, the seal on the wall cannot tear off.
Only 45 cm need to be overcome when entering the tub.
The tub floor and the finished floor are roughly at the same height, comfortable entry.

We have planned it that way too - and were also told that you then fall into a hole.

In any case, I imagine it to be nicer that way and also more comfortable later. In addition, our bathtub then extends into the window, which of course also makes it larger.

You can place it on both floors, but the risk of sinking is naturally higher with the screed option. Point loads put quite a bit of weight on the poor screed.

We have just today had toilets installed at 43 cm and washbasins at 90 cm.

Yes

Why should that not be comfortable? A chair also has a seat height of about 45 cm.

Our installer suggested setting the bathtub on the rough floor – yes, because of ease of entry in old age. We have – measured – now a final height of 43 cm. The tub floor is just slightly below the finished floor level, and it's not strange

: We already spoke to him on the phone today. He would change it at no additional cost; we just have to decide relatively quickly since the tiler is also ready to start.

: Understood, thanks.

: Thanks for the professional assessment.

: "Planned exactly like that" means as it is installed with us now?

: Okay, good to hear that nowadays it is rather common to set the tub about 45 cm above the unfinished floor level (=screed height). #KidsBathing/SeatingHeight: Well, comfort is always a matter of perspective. We don’t really find 45 cm chair seat height comfortable. But that’s because I am significantly taller than average and my wife has much longer legs than the average woman. My legs are sharply bent when I sit at 40-45 cm.

Just from the room optics alone, a tub height of 45cm simply looks better! I am currently in the process of redesigning my bathroom and will do everything to install the tub as low as possible, which for me means not using the conventional tub feet. With my old legs, a lower tub simply suits me better. Important in the case of a lower tub is to provide an entry and exit aid in the form of a tub handle!
