Because with a robot, it is indispensable, I think...

That's right. But many also create mowing edges for their push mowers.

Lay the boundary wire accordingly so that it fits. It works perfectly for us and friends without a 40cm mowing edge. I just can't imagine how a 40cm mowing edge looks and appears.

Depends on the size of the garden. Every robotic mower requires a mowing edge. Otherwise, grass remains standing. The large all-wheel drive models require wide mowing edges. However, some mowers manage with 12-15 cm overhang. If there is no obstacle behind, mowing edges are not necessary.

That's exactly how it is. This has little to do with the boundary wire.
