Waterproof wall paint to prevent mold

Hello,

in the bathroom I have a spot where the wall gets slightly wet from time to time while showering; over time this is visibly not good for the wall. It becomes yellowish and crumbles.

I was thinking of something like Ultrament Wasser Stopp 2in1 (paint and sealant in one).
Is that any good?

Alternatively maybe Elefantenhaut or boat varnish?

Other recommendations?

You have pretty tiles on the floor, just pull them up 30-40cm on this wall and that's it. Of course, prepare the substrate beforehand (plaster off?, renew, 2x sealing coat, tiles) You can easily do it yourself ;-) Maybe you still have a few spare tiles or you buy matching contrasting ones.

I have now painted with Ultrament Wasserstopp; that already seems to help. Can one apply Elefantenhaut over such Ultrament paint in particularly stressed areas?

I don't understand the statement; what do you mean by that? Whether you can paint elephant skin over the aforementioned paint was my original question.

Ultrament Wasser Stopp 2in1 is actually not intended for that. It does work though. It is rather for bare concrete, screed… According to the datasheet, it can also be overpainted with primer. So it is best to apply the appropriate Ultrament [Haftgrund] and then overpaint.
