Hi guys! I have a problem in my bathroom concerning the water pressure. A plumber was here recently to repair the toilet tank. So far so good, but then I noticed that a little water was constantly running in the toilet. That’s why I turned the control knob in the bathroom to stop the water supply and always turned it back on when I needed the water in the bathroom again. But suddenly the water pressure dropped immensely, no matter how I turn the knob. If I turn too far to the left or right, the water stops immediately, and in the middle it is just really weak and low pressure. I always turned the knob tightly shut because I didn’t want the water to run through the toilet all the time. Now the problem is as follows: regardless of whether I turn it right or left, the water stream stops, and in the middle it is just very weak and low pressure. What could be going on? Could turning it off have caused a problem in the pipes or valve? Best regards

Good evening,

Neighborhood help?

Why didn’t you call the plumber again?

Someone once explained to me that after very tight comes very loose….

I have an old treasure of a clock hanging in the hallway that has to be wound by hand. Once I turned it quite far… very painful; that’s when I understood what someone meant

So call the plumber and have him fix the problem.

Rhine greetings

Hello Lero,

I assume that there is a blockage in the valve or the valve cone is loose. There is only one solution,
turn off the water at the main shut-off valve/valve, then unscrew the valve in your bathroom. Make sure it is really turned off beforehand. Check if you find anything in or on the valve seat that doesn't belong there.

On the other hand, if you have hired a plumber whom you have paid afterwards, then yes, let him come back. Your statement "that water continuously leaked in the toilet" indicates
the repair failed.

Best regards, Leo

Hello,

I also suspect that something is wrong with the valve.

We recently had the problem during the handover of the apartment we had been using so far that the tenant complained upon moving in that there was no hot water.

When we moved out (two weeks earlier) we had turned off the water at the shut-off valves in the bathroom.

Now it seems that the hot water valve had seized and could only be persuaded to open again after several attempts of turning it back and forth.

Therefore my tip as well: Order the plumber who did the work again - he should then properly repair the toilet cistern and also immediately check the shut-off valve.

Regards,

Dirk
