Hello everyone,
that I even have to open a post at all is already a bad joke, but I can't get any further. We have plastic handles on the outside of our patio doors. The very simple variant. Two of them have become loose by now and one has even completely fallen off. The fastening was done with two mini screws. They were not even one cm long. The first one was replaced "as a goodwill gesture." For the second one, which stopped working 1 month later, there is now an invoice. After various emails back and forth, payment is still being demanded. Since we have only lived in the house for less than half a year and the door has been used maybe 100 times in that time, I of course attributed it to the warranty. Now they say there is no warranty for movable parts. I am being accused of not using and maintaining the patio door properly. How one cannot use a plastic handle properly, I do not know. That I have to carry out maintenance within a few months I have never heard of. Isn't it supposed to be yearly? By the way, the doors are by no means stiff or anything like that. Also, reference is made to normal wear and tear. My inquiry about a subscription model for door handles unfortunately remained unanswered. There are reports on the internet where this handle completely broke off and the screws are still firmly in the door. The handle on the third patio door holds tight as a drum. It seems that it is possible to get these screws tight. My actual question: Is it customary that you have to pay for repairs of "movable parts" although the acceptance was only a few months ago? actually your area of expertise
