Shortly after our house was inspected and the final payment was made, we received the attached warning and information letter. We have taken the corresponding notes into account. My question here "actually" is just to check with you whether it is normal for such systems to still be installed in new houses. As a layperson, I would have assumed that the latest and best systems are installed in new buildings, and not that warnings about individual components have to be issued shortly after completion.

What are your opinions, information, experiences on this?

Who sent the letter?

It already has a bit of a fishy smell when something like that is 'added on' immediately after the acceptance...

Thank you for your interest, but to avoid legal consequences, I would rather not say who the letter was from. However, it did not come from the house manufacturer, who, as I was later informed, is not responsible for it. With the house construction contract, we have committed in writing to have certain maintenance performed once a year, which I was referred to in this context.

However, it does not seem to be a regularly occurring problem, otherwise more forum members would probably comment on it here.

I understand the letter as "unfortunately, we installed the cheapest rubbish, which surprisingly causes problems" and an attempt to shift the problem onto the owner now. Proper would be if your builder would carry out the inspection at their own expense within the scope of the warranty. I would also urge them to do so, because obviously a part with a recall is a defect that already existed at the time of installation.

The letter refers to poor installation. I would refer the responsibility back to the house builder. If there are concerns, he should initiate the inspection himself.

In my opinion, this is information intended to prompt you to conclude a maintenance contract.

My system has now been running for over 20 years without maintenance. What is supposed to wear out there?

In view of your price increase story, it was to be expected that the house manufacturer would look for potential to partially compensate for his "accommodation" *LOL*.
