Walls in new construction - painter's fleece, priming, and painting?

Hello everyone,

I have been writing here again for some time. We need to decide soon what to do with our walls and ceilings. We have plastered Kaldsandstein walls and drywall walls, as well as concrete ceilings.

Many recommend replastering, sanding, painter’s fleece, and painting against the settlement cracks. But that is quite expensive. Alternatively, we were offered priming and painting - significantly cheaper, but will every unevenness and settlement crack be visible afterward? Are there any other options?

Looking forward to your opinions.

It depends on how sensitive your house is to settling. We filled and painted everything with Q4, and even after 2 years there are no cracks. For concrete ceilings, however, I would use fleece, as small cracks always appear there, which are also quite visible.

So I want to do the following on the walls in the initial situation:

Fill dents, sand walls
Prime
Wallpaper with Vlies Conpart 4090
Final coat

It's not just about settlement cracks, but that the raw painted plaster is much more sensitive, you can see every blemish.

8 years in the house. No cracks visible on the walls. The usual transitions of course, such as wall/ceiling on the upper floor.

Wall construction:

Calcium silicate brick - Fenputz Q2 - Primer - Painter’s fleece - Wall paint

Concrete ceilings plastered without fleece, only primer + wall paint, no cracks here either.

that is all a matter of taste...
we have no fleece anywhere, not even on the ceiling.
plastered in Q2, but that was done so neatly that the painters only sanded it once more and then directly primed and painted.
and yes, of course you can see settlement cracks, especially at the transition from stone to wood, that is on the slopes.
we knew that beforehand, of course, we wanted to see where it cracks. when repainting next time, it will be painted over or, if necessary, filled with acrylic beforehand.
