Hello forum participants, I am currently planning a complete attic conversion and am considering which interior walls to build (drywall construction or solid construction)? For me, aside from the acoustics in the room, sound insulation was especially important. Who among you has experience with different materials, the necessary thickness, or important tips and tricks? Thank you in advance for any experience reports or assistance.

Hello,

the advantages of solid construction lie in the building physics properties, while in drywall construction they clearly lie in the processing.

But what is better for you now, you have to decide yourself.

The statics must definitely be taken into account. You cannot simply place solid walls on the ceiling. We don’t want the walls to suddenly end up on the ground floor ;)

So find someone who can help you with the planning. Definitely a structural engineer.

Regards
