Hello everyone,

this might be a silly question...

We want to have the look of a rubble stone wall behind our soapstone stove.

As an alternative to the "classic" stones for sticking, we have now also discovered a photo wallpaper with a corresponding look.

Are photo wallpapers generally possible / sensible behind a stove?

We are concerned that the radiant heat from the stove could cause damage / discoloration to the photo wallpaper...

Regards,

Dirk

In the technical data sheet for your oven, the minimum distance to combustible materials at the rear wall is indicated. If this is observed, there should actually be no problems. But it is best to also clarify this with your chimney sweep.

Hello Björn,
the distance to combustible materials is clear - we are rather concerned whether a photo wallpaper will discolor due to the radiant heat...

We have a Lotos M3 soapstone stove with fiber fleece behind it. Nothing discolors there. It only gets really hot at the front by the door. I would like to have inserted a photo now, but obviously that doesn’t work via Tapatalk. Sylvia

So, it works directly through the forum.

Photo wallpaper with the look of a rubble stone wall...

I don't know if doing this in a new house is a good idea: photo wallpaper can create an interesting effect and enhance the room if it is recognized as such. But a stone look can appear cheap.
