Good day.

How thick are exterior walls, load-bearing and non-load-bearing interior walls in timber frame construction (Energy Saving Ordinance standard).

We are planning to build a city villa and until then, I would like to create my own floor plan. For this, I would like to roughly know what wall thicknesses I need to work with. I understand that there are certainly many possibilities - but what are the most common wall thicknesses?

Best regards.

Just take a look at the construction service descriptions from house manufacturers. For example Schwörerhaus, Weberhaus, Rensch-Haus

For a good exterior wall, calculate with 38-44 cm. Interior walls can always change due to the statics. Usually at least 12 cm or for load-bearing walls 18-24 cm.

Don’t make it too complicated for yourself as a layperson, especially since you will hardly be able to oversee where load-bearing walls “belong.” Plan generally with 40 cm exterior walls and 20 cm interior walls (and beware of adding just a few centimeters for a very specific cabinet that is supposed to fit somewhere). Then you will get something with which one can continue working.

I would do something similar.
Timber frame construction is narrower than solid construction. With just plaster, I would take 34 cm for exterior walls and 15 for interior walls. There are no load-bearing walls, but necessary studs, which are incorporated into the interior walls. Some space everywhere is part of self-planning. After all, furniture is not placed directly against the wall; there should be space between everywhere. And 5 cm too much is better than 5 cm too little.
However, I warn you: many prefab house manufacturers do not allow too many changes to their model houses. Therefore, the company should already be decided on and the preferred design only slightly modified.
