Hello, I want to buy a completely new room soon.

The color of all furniture, except the bed, the desk, and the doors of the Pax, will be "white lacquered oak."

So my question now is how I should handle the color design. I would like to make a stripe ochre brown, but I don't know how thick it should be and whether it would match the color of the furniture.

Here I would like your help. You can also gladly suggest other nice and warm colors or combinations, I would really appreciate it.

PS. I should also mention that it is a "youth room," I am 16 years old, male, in case that helps.

hello, ultimately everything is of course a matter of taste. first of all, the question arises for me, what color are the desk and the bed and especially what is the base tone of the wall? also, what is that thing above the desk? were you thinking of a horizontal or vertical stripe? horizontally it would extend the room, but in the pictures it seems rather long and narrow to me. (estimate about 4m * 2m, judging by the furniture) the color could certainly be mixed to a suitable tone matching the oak, but too much of the same tone and maybe the light brown on a white background would in my opinion be somewhat pale and boring. a dark brown would please me better for that. do you have any basic idea of how it should look in the end? is the stripe just a stripe or intended as part of a whole? have you ever tried placing two 4-drawer dressers side by side instead of the 6-drawer and 3-drawer ones?

The desk and bed are white. I want to first wallpaper the entire wall with white textured wallpaper. The "thing" above the desk should be a mirror. Yes, I was thinking more of a horizontal stripe, the room dimensions are 4.3m * 2.4m. Yes, in the end it should just feel warm, inviting, and also modern.

Even if the textured wallpaper is to remain white, it is still painted. A colored base tone is therefore not extra work. For a horizontal stripe, there are not many possibilities. How about the stripe as an extension of the mirror to both sides? A second mirror opposite the other could be a small optical trick. I already mentioned dark brown as a color; it is warm and contrasting. As an alternative to the horizontal stripe, I thought of a vertical stripe the width of the desk. This way there is a contrast to the white desk.

Unfortunately, there are no people here who participate in such questions. Usually, it is more about technical issues. You could write to Basti, the Wohnprinz. He would surely be happy to give tips to a 16-year-old boy who wants to design his room. In any case, you must not leave us in the dark about how it finally looks.

Thank you for your response and the numerous tips :)

Could you maybe post a shade of brown as you mean it?

Posting colors is somewhat difficult because the display varies depending on the settings of the monitor and the graphics card. If you want a brown tone, it is advisable to mix a few sample tones, apply them from a piece of wallpaper, and then decide. The most important thing is that you like it.
