Vertical sealing base of garage

Hello everyone,

the garage is built and I have the question about the vertical sealing in the base area. Is this necessary for the garage (see picture)? Nothing is to be backfilled but paving will be done up to the garage. On the sides without paving, no soil but at most gravel will be backfilled.

Does this need to be sealed and if so, with what? Bitumen primer? Waterproofing slurry?

So, height by feel, better more than too little. [Dichtschlämme] on top. Two layers. Then it's good.

Can someone explain to me as a layperson whether sealing slurries or bituminous thick coatings are the method of choice here? I have no experience with this so far.

Well, there will be no pressing water there. Slurry is sufficient. I would use bitumen for basement walls and such. Slurry is cheap and easy to apply.
