Vallox 510 MV basement installations with external mushrooms side by side?

Hello everyone. We are just before the final inspection of our new building. The district chimney sweep was already here and made a remark that gives me some stomach aches. (He himself also offers ventilation system cleaning and seems to know his stuff.) Our 510 Vallox is in the basement and there he saw the two ducts for supply and exhaust air, which stood next to each other about 70 cm apart. His statement on that: "Who made such nonsense, supply and exhaust air directly next to each other, that just doesn't work!" What do you think? Is it a defect worth discussing or is it normal?

By no means normal. Although there are external and exhaust air combination covers, without such covers 70 cm distance is too little - normally one tries to place them on different sides of the building whenever possible!

I already suspected something like that. Is there an official regulation or DIN?

I'm not an expert, but I would start with the Vallox planning manual (page 18, General Planning Notes, 2.4 Design of the Outdoor Air/Exhaust Air Duct System):

Now we do not have a weather protection grille but two "normal" standpipes.

The Vallox headquarters wrote to me:

"Good day,
thank you for your inquiry.
It is correct that no short-circuit flow is allowed to occur between the outside air and the exhaust air.
In case of questions regarding the execution, it is usually best to first seek dialogue with your specialist company.
We ask for your understanding that as a manufacturer we cannot make assessments of craftsmen's work."

Of course, they keep nicely out of it. But they don’t seem completely satisfied either :)

Nevertheless, it is very strange because according to the DIN there are clear specifications depending on air m³/h.
Our ValloPlus 510 MV surely has more than 300 m³/h and the standpipes are never 1.4 m apart in life. But see for yourselves.

Please say that the KG pipes are installed only as casing / protection for the actual ventilation pipes, right?
