Hello,
On the corner plot where we want to build, there used to be a corner house (built 1894 / fire and explosion damage WW2 / leveled 1955). It had a basement. Currently, we assume that the basement was only filled in and not demolished.
For the new construction, we are bound to the old building lines. This means that we will build very precisely on the old house. In terms of building dimensions, it will also come down to a similar size. We would also like to build with a basement. Is it conceivable to excavate and renovate the old basement? Of course, only if there are economic and/or ecological reasons for it. Since the basement was only about 1.50m underground and was demolished at ground level, it would definitely have to be rebuilt.
If this is not sensible (which I assume): What is to be expected regarding how deep the foundation lies below the basement? In other words, how deep will the excavation pit be to remove the old basement?
