Underfloor heating and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR), replacement of ordinary radiators

Hi!

In our house planning, a controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery is to be installed. Now I wonder if one could use underfloor heating instead of the "normal" radiators.

- To what extent is underfloor heating compatible with controlled residential ventilation?
- Do I need to pay attention to a specific heating behavior?

In my opinion, the two things are independent. Heat recovery is more of a marketing gimmick. You really can't heat with it.

We install normal radiators and have a controlled residential ventilation system, but it is only to prevent mold, improve the indoor climate, and filter dust and pollen (both are allergy sufferers). In addition, the KFW requires a controlled residential ventilation system. But it would be possible with or without underfloor heating.

Hello,

there is nothing against it, on the contrary. In new buildings nowadays, underfloor heating with controlled residential ventilation/heat recovery is almost "mandatory". What heat generator do you have? With properly installed (close pipe spacing) underfloor heating, you are also future-proof in terms of heat pumps. And we (subjectively) would no longer want to do without controlled residential ventilation/heat recovery, if only for comfort reasons, although I rather doubt amortization over the years.

Yes, that's true... - almost...

We based our decision on forum posts and had acquaintances who also built with controlled residential ventilation/heat recovery 2 years ago. And the general consensus leans towards "pro" controlled residential ventilation/heat recovery. On the other hand, over 6000,- bucks (in our case) is quite a lot. But installing it later in maybe a few years would be extremely complex... - and expensive.

Regards...

In the bb a gas boiler is offered. Since I am still put off by the prices and the potentially high operating costs of a heat pump, I will stick with gas. Maybe a heat pump will become more interesting someday.

How is it with underfloor heating? I once read that you should keep underfloor heating running constantly in winter because it reacts slowly. Is that correct? Does this also apply to KfW xx houses?
