Transition from house wall to ground/path

Hello I have a question for the experts. There are gaps that have formed between our exterior wall and the transition to the ground/path all around the house. Now my question is, how can I best seal these gaps? Or rather, do I even have to seal them, or can they remain as they are and be harmless? Can anyone give me some tips here?
