I don't know. Can you imagine what processed pollutants might look like if you found them in an old house? I assume you're worried about the fibrous structure? However, asbestos fibers are not visible in intact material and are microscopic (that's why they're so dangerous)... I just noticed that my windowsill at work contains asbestos... Only a laboratory test can give you 100% certainty.

Thank you for the link. Yes, the fibrous structure worries me. I see it for the first time so far. The white in between looks like styrofoam. The question is basically whether we should leave it in or if it would be advisable to remove the panels. The roof will be newly insulated from the outside anyway according to Kfw 85. There were also 2 asbestos-containing radiators in the house before.

So, I also looked into asbestos. As far as I know, asbestos fibers are 100 times thinner than a hair... just because something looks fibrous doesn't mean it has to be asbestos. Think of our OSB or pressboards, they don't contain asbestos either. I can imagine that old panels with asbestos inside, when broken, are crumbly to dusty. However, I myself would very reluctantly break an asbestos panel, so I can't give you that tip. Just take such a panel to an older craftsman who experienced those years. If he has concerns, plan appropriate safety precautions during the renovation and dispose of it accordingly.
