Hello forum,

I am in the process of gathering information about building a house. I have one or two house offers available. Town & Country and Heinz von Heiden. I hope my concern is placed correctly here, otherwise please move it. Since the chosen plot of land has no gas connection, only a heat pump remains, or this can be added with a small extra charge at Town & Country, while at Heinz von Heiden it is already included as standard. Both have Rotex systems respectively. Now there is the consideration to operate the air heat pump using a heat pump tariff, which at Town & Country costs about 4000€ more just so that "a lever in the system is switched." Without this procedure, it runs on household electricity. I find about 4000€ for "the switch" quite steep. Does anyone have any idea if this also applies at Heinz von Heiden, or if they already think ahead and it is already suitable for the heat pump tariff? Maybe there are more opinions or ideas here. However, in research, one also occasionally finds negative things about the electricity consumption of Rotex systems. Since I do not want to invest all my money in electricity consumption, I am looking for solutions or whether Rotex is really that bad? Maybe someone also knows which alternative systems are installed by the above-mentioned companies.

Thanks a lot for that.
Regards
André

I can't say anything about Rotex. But you need to be aware that Town & Country and Heinz von Heiden are more in the affordable segment, so the materials are selected accordingly. That doesn't mean the system will fall apart quickly, but there could be differences, for example, in the noise level of the device. Also, make sure that the outdoor unit is properly decoupled from the building. Its own foundation, etc. 4T€ for the ability to connect this thing to a [Wärmepumpentarif] is probably a rip-off. The heat pump doesn't have to be capable of that. You just need more space in the control cabinet for an extra meter, a bit of extra protection if anything at all. I'd say 500-700€.

That is really quite cheap.

Next time, dear Preim Massivhaus GmbH, better hire an agency for such things. There are plenty of providers who can really do it well! Including spelling mistakes and everything that goes with it!
