Topping-out ceremony, house completion, whom to invite, whom not, traditions?

We celebrated our topping-out ceremony in May and it was a complete success. We invited neighbors, helpers, friends, and family. Since we celebrated on a Saturday, we had about 60 guests. Our neighbors made a great topping wreath, which was attached to the roof along with a topping wreath from the carpenter. In the meantime, there have already been two more topping-out ceremonies in our neighborhood, and I suspect there will be more to come. We grilled delicious food and offered many different homemade salads. Our guests thanked us for the invitation with many lovely gifts, such as decorations for the new house or practical hardware store vouchers.
