If you have maple doors and frames and the floor is to be tiled (wood look), should that also be maple or does it not matter? Or preferably something completely different?

Depends on what you like :) We would never say "that's boring" for an identical color. Preferably a beautiful, expressive floor in a slightly larger format and a slightly darker color (e.g., oak look) or a limed version (available not only in real wood but also as a tile).

Maple darkens slightly yellowish, which is why we decided on a floor leaning towards whitewashed rather than maple doors. Therefore, I don't find gray suitable either.
