Hello,

I want to plaster drywall sheets on the ceiling. Are there any insider tips for a good result? Which joint compound do you recommend? Do I need special tools?

Thanks for the help

Hello Hausbau Schweiz,

it is important that you work cleanly and sand once too often rather than once too little. For beginners, I recommend already mixed putty..... I wish you much success and above all a lot of patience

Hello!

I can only agree with my predecessor. Of course, you can also mix the filler yourself, I think a gypsum-based bonding plaster should also work for this. It is very important to sand the whole thing well later so that it is 100% smooth and no joints/waves etc. are visible in the wallpaper.

It’s actually quite simple, I did it for the first time at 15 and got it perfect. And here’s another tip: Be generous with the filling, better a little too much than too little, the excess can be sanded smooth. I would do it with a screed, as this is the best way to smooth it out and it’s faster than using a spatula.

Best regards

Yes, I also think it is no problem to do something like that yourself. Just take any putty based on gypsum and off you go. As already mentioned, the most important thing is the proper sanding so that it becomes nice and smooth.
