Hello,

I don't think anyone can really answer you properly. The 5 years of studies and many years of experience unfortunately don't fit into any forum in the world. Especially since the local conditions in PY are also completely different than in Germany (climate, existing building materials) and boosting can be done everywhere. In Germany, insulation and thermal bridges are at least a problem. And special caution is required with things that you can't see later because, for example, they disappear behind a cladding or under concrete. Crooked windows can be seen by anyone. But whether the vapor barrier is properly placed or the sealing exactly positioned can only be decided by a professional. No forum will ever be able to help with that. You need a building supervisor that you trust, and he can clarify everything on site.

Hello,
I am also currently building and have already discovered some botched work.
If you are not completely clueless, you can see mistakes just by using common sense.
You just have to think along day by day about what they are doing at the moment.
Asking a lot of questions is never wrong.
And a builder on the construction site who shows presence (and hands out a beer in the evening) already prevents a lot of botched work simply by being there.
Otherwise, I would advise you to educate yourself online in general and just think along!

Regards and good luck

Hello Jens,
it seems to me that my answer is 3 years too late, but maybe I can still help you somehow.
I build houses here (Paraguay) and also provide construction consulting.

You can get in touch.

Regards Holger
