Hello! I want to tile the space between the washbasin and the mirror in the bathroom myself (as a splash guard). I still have tiles left over from the shower and would like to use them. Unfortunately, they are "difficult" tiles. They are Equipe Ceramica Lanze tiles, each with a pointed side. Kind of like an arrow in two directions. I have to cut off the point to find a straight wall edge. That only works somewhat precisely. Something always goes wrong. How can I nicely finish a tiled wall on the lower side? The cover strips available for tiles are only suitable for the upper side. There is no mirrored version.

You just have to use the right tool. An electric wet tile cutter with an angle stop should allow cuts accurate to 1/2mm; the last micrometer inaccuracies disappear in the joint. Otherwise, tile edges can still be ground and polished by the local tile specialist dealer (at least ours could do it).

Is it this one? And then upright? Draw line with pencil, score with tile cutter and break off with pliers or chip off with hammer. Tile cutter can be borrowed. A few mm are covered with silicone joint.

Yes, these are the tiles. I have a manual tile cutter here. Nevertheless, breaking along the cut edge does not succeed as cleanly as it would need to. The tiles are quite thick, maybe that's the reason?

As a layman, you rarely get it „cleanly“, but it should be sufficient. As already mentioned, cutting edges can be hidden behind a silicone joint. Are you including that in your planning, and is it still not enough? Plan B: cut in the middle? Should work better. Show me the tile cutter, maybe it’s something that can never work.

Would it be possible not to tile the entire surface, but to leave a border that would then be jagged in this case? I don’t know what the surface looks like, but maybe that’s an idea for you so that you don’t have to cut the tiles at all.
