Calibrated or rectified? Look it up again, many confuse that. However, manufacturers sometimes use it very confusingly as well.
Actually, calibrated means an edge that is not cut at 90 degrees, and rectified is the process where tile edges are cut exactly at 90 degrees.
Hope I have stated that correctly now, otherwise feel free to correct me.
If in doubt, ask the specialist dealer again what properties the individual tile has. Personally, I only like the narrow straight joints. Maybe an exception with natural stone.
But that is my personal taste.
For the tiler, the non-rectified ones are easier because the joints become larger and more uneven. This forgives more. For some, that makes a price difference.
Yes, that’s exactly how I feel too – from the beginning I had no idea what the specialist dealer was talking about :D He always only spoke of the calibrated edge – rectified was not in his vocabulary...
