Hello everyone,

Our new building is finished. We had tiles laid on the ground floor and in the sanitary rooms. Afterwards, the remaining work was carried out (bathroom furniture installation, wallpaper, etc.).

Now we have the problem that the light gray/dark gray grout is patchy in many places. These are always lighter spots than the actual grout color. The tiler said that this is from the remaining work that was carried out, the dust that settled in the grout.

The question now is whether anyone has had similar problems and/or a tip on how to make these grout lines uniform again?

Thank you very much
Best regards, Rene

Hi forum,

is it dust? Just try wiping it off with a damp cloth.

If the discoloration persists, it is due to the grout or its application (which I consider more likely).

In that case, I would report a defect and demand a repair.

Before making an appointment with the tiler, I would involve an application technician from the grout manufacturer. He can certainly provide some information.

Best regards Kristof
