Thicker wear layer in parquet, is the surcharge worth it?

Hello,

we are currently in the process of choosing the parquet for our construction project. We have decided on a parquet from Terhürne (Eiche Natur geölt Modell B12 oder B12b).
Now the parquet is offered with two different wear layers, 3.5 mm (30 years manufacturer warranty) and 2.5 mm (15 years manufacturer warranty). The additional cost is €8 per m². We have about 150 m² to lay, so that's about €1200.
Is this additional cost worth it in practice?
Probably the more expensive model can be sanded one more time, but do people really do that?
What would you do?
Thanks for your feedback!

I would definitely go for the higher quality one as well.

Sanding once is cheaper than laying new flooring. For example, you can have it done by a carpenter. Otherwise, just ask a carpenter if they can give you a tip on how relevant the thicker wear layer is.

I wonder who has really ever completely removed the functional layer during grinding. I would estimate that in a surface grinding process, 2-3 tenths are removed. How often is this done realistically? Maybe on heavily trafficked areas that are easily accessible.

I would take the thinner layer because I don't think I would really sand it multiple times.
