hm... so you wouldn't separate thermally at all? Later I'll talk to the guys who are supposed to do the paving to see what they say. Meanwhile, I'm considering using a 3cm styrofoam board and sloping it from 1cm to 3cm at the height of 8cm (paving stone), so that only the first row of stones needs to be beveled. It might work better the thicker the styrofoam is.

I consider it to be Sisyphus. I have 15 cm high quartzite blocks in front of my floor-to-ceiling windows. They are pushed directly under the window onto this leveling profile. They total 11 meters and I don't see a problem now. The temperatures of the floor are slightly lower directly at the edge than at the walls, but 3 cm of insulation does not improve that either.
