Hello dear community,
It's getting serious now. We received a call that the foundation and floor slab will be completed this week, and here they are already.

Now a friend of ours (former site manager) pointed out that there might be a thermal bridge on the lower wall, since the foundations are not insulated and the insulation on the floor slab goes only 20cm into the ground.

After checking with the site manager, we were told that this is not a problem.

Do we need to take action now?
What is your opinion on the possible thermal bridge?

Thank you very much.

The first row of stones/Kimmschicht will be made with heat-insulating stone. Ask the site manager about that. It's fine as it is.

Don’t let yourself be driven crazy ... Much of your house can certainly be done better/higher/faster/further. But by far not everything is critical! Did you hire a professional company for the construction? Have you checked the planning, the concept before execution? (Content-wise: See #2. In my opinion, the issue is also relevant on the interior walls. Ask about the cove bricks or the cove layer. But even if so, the house will be warm and it will consume very little energy. Damage in this area is also not to be expected with proper execution.)

Thank you first of all for the answers.

We will inquire again about the [kimmschicht].

We are actually less concerned about the heat loss, much more about the fear of mold because water collects in the cold spots.
