Hello community,

according to the soil report from our house builder, there is a risk of accumulating seepage water on our property. Now our architect has informed us that therefore the basement would have to be specially sealed. That would mean additional costs of 10,000 euros. Is that realistic? For that amount, I could almost build a new basement...

Have you ever had such a problem with seepage water? How did you seal your basements? If I understood correctly, a membrane must now be installed around the entire basement?!?

Thanks for your feedback and regards

Hello Tiger, I can understand you well. It makes you think. Since we also want to build a basement next year, I am also trying to learn more about the topic online. This whole bathtub thing seems quite complicated and tricky to me. Whether these bathtubs are really watertight. It seems that many people have also had bad experiences. The basement is then damp later, there is mold. At a fair I discovered a different system. Just google [Kellerdicht-System]. Maybe someone here has experience with it.
