Hello dear forum,

I am currently planning the tiles for our house and am more or less looking for inspiration and the do's and don'ts of the tile world. In general, I have understood that there are different requirements for different rooms. In the bathroom, for example, attention must be paid to slip resistance and slip resistance class, while in the hallway it is more about the abrasion group.

I would be happy if you could share your experiences and preferably also pictures.

Thanks and best regards,

Daniel

Please don’t make a drama out of it. Abrasion group, in private living areas almost doesn’t matter. Where there’s a lot of sand underfoot, restaurants, corridors, foyers in public areas, etc. important, possibly also holiday apartments at the beach, but otherwise? Doesn’t matter, really. Slip resistance, yes, important, you can also see it on the tile. In tile markets, you usually also see tiled areas, kind of as an idea of how it looks. Do you have a Harry’s tile market nearby? Then go there. k.

Yes, you are probably right about that. I just always assumed that tiles cost €25/m² or more. At Hornbach, even with these features, everything is in the range of €15-23/m²... I just don't know if they are any good.

No, I come from NRW, unfortunately, that store doesn't exist here.

Yes, yes. The stuff is good, it's just often no-name products, you often can't get more when it's all gone. Harry is also in NRW, there he is called Fliesenmax

What do you think, for example, of Feinsteinzeug Wally Noce 35.5x71. It's really cheap, putting the appearance aside for now, I consider it a real bargain.

Tile? We also have porcelain stoneware on the floor. It's okay, affordable, slip-resistant, and 21 per sqm. Wall a normal glazed 17.50 tile.
