Hello everyone,

we want to install our 23 sqm terrace in early autumn with terrace slabs in wood look (grey). For this, I fell in love with a terrace slab made of porcelain stoneware with 2 cm thickness at a well-known hardware store starting with H. It says there that they can be laid on gravel as well as on slab supports or sand bed (also mortar bed) and are frost-resistant. Rectified edge.
Reviews are good - the edges of the slabs seem to be sensitive when laying and sometimes chip off. If you know that, you might manage it - after all, we only have a small area and don’t need to lay 100 sqm in a rush.

However, our construction manager said that terrace slabs must have at least 4 cm thickness.

What do you think? Does anyone have experience with such thin slabs? At least they are offered in large quantities in hardware stores - so they are not a total exotic as it seems to me. Therefore, I somehow can’t imagine that it doesn’t work at all…

THANK YOU!!!

Best regards, hemali2003

Oh, the dimensions are 90 x 45 cm - that is certainly relevant as well.
