Hello
I’ll start from the beginning:
Last year in March I ordered and bought a kit without glass for a patio roof. The roof is calculated, cut to size, and delivered.
I ordered the glass according to the measurements provided by the company that supplies the profiles.
Due to work, I was only recently able to start assembling the patio roof.
The project is in its final stages. The glass needs to go on, the crane is ordered, I measure everything again and realize something doesn’t fit. The glass is about 10 cm too long. The covers that go over the glass at the end are also too long.
I call the profile supplier and we discuss everything. He is not very helpful.
After some time it turns out that the rafters are not 2,877 mm but only 2,774 mm long. That accounts for the 10 cm. I ask for a suggested solution. He dodges the issue. Talks about something from over a year ago and whether I hadn’t measured on delivery.
I suggest that I have both the glass and the covers shortened and that we somehow settle the costs with a new upcoming order. He continues to dodge. Says he is not allowed to decide, management is on vacation, etc. Now I want to complete the roof. For that, I have to have the glass shortened. The covers too. But I suspect that the supply company is trying to trick me, will refer to some remedial work, and will refuse all cost coverage (this is only about 300 to 400 euros) because of that. The fault clearly and provably lies with the profile supplier.
What do you advise?
