Are 3.5m deep enough? I personally find 4.5 always problematic with the sun.

For the terrace that is certainly enough. However, due to the west orientation, the sun appears right on time for the end of work, so I still need to look into a vertical awning. Around midday everything fits, in the evening even 5m would probably be too little.
