Interesting! It was the same here at first. The construction manager from the developer hadn’t told the civil engineer that we would get the gutter, planning documents were not created. That’s why the civil engineer built the substructure without the gutter and then improvised it afterwards in the easiest possible way.
We were shocked but couldn’t prove a real defect. After some concerns, we arranged the modification of the gutter into the reveal at our own expense.
It has now been watertight for about 11 months despite being on the unprotected weather side. By the way, all the experts involved thought the gutter wasn’t necessary. I overruled them; the customer is king and pays after all.
Are your doors well adjusted? Do you have more extreme weather than we do in the few months? Or does it actually matter where the gutter is located? You have about 15 cm of flat surface in front of the gutter where water can collect.
