Hello everyone,
we are currently building a house on a sloping plot. Due to the slope, the back side of the basement is exposed; our garden is also located there. Right now, only the basement exists, and the construction company has already filled the lower garden area about 0.5 to 1 meter above the original ground level to create a flat surface. According to the development plan, we must step back 0.5 meters to the original ground level before the neighbor’s property, which we have done.
The neighbor below us is also in the construction phase but will move in in August. He will slightly dig out his garden.
Now he and I fear that our unplanted terrain might slip down towards him. He will take care of the reinforcement on his property; from the boundary onward, we must take care of it. Next year, when landscaping the garden, I want to do something proper, but what should I do until then?
I don’t want to spend a fortune on retaining walls now while we are still in the middle of construction. We don’t even know exactly how we want to design the garden. So how can I secure it provisionally? Is a fleece weighted down with stones sufficient?
Thanks for your answers!
