Hello, we are currently building a semi-detached house. My builder told us that the cable TV is also installed by Telekom. And that there is always only one cable with everything (phones, cable TV, everything). I wanted to ask, this cable connection from Telekom, can you later choose KabelDeutschland/Vodafone as a provider for cable internet? Or does KD then have to carry out construction work?

No, no customer service. You have Telekom fiber optic to your house, bet on it, and you could now watch TV over it as well as have 100,000 internet and voice phone. You'd have to include it in the contract. There's a TV box for that. But don't do it! Too expensive. A satellite system is cheaper. Do the math. 500,- satellite system. No fee. I think the extra charge for phone-TV is 20,- per month. Good two years and satellite is ahead. Karsten

These are two different things:

Cable television
from Telekom no longer exists, the cable companies were sold a long time ago, individually in each federal state. Also to Kabel Deutschland, now Vodafone.

Only one cable television provider comes into a house.

Triple Play
is offered by Telekom. However, it does not come via television cable, but via "DSL". Triple Play means telephone + internet + broadcasting, all through the same connection.

You can certainly have a cable television connection from KD and only make phone calls through it, and a Triple Play connection from Telekom on which you only watch TV, and surf on both. For example.

I'm bringing this up again to avoid starting a new topic. Telekom.....our development area has them exclusively because of fiber to home. Cable Deutschland is not included either. They weren't allowed in. So...that wouldn't be a big deal yet. But I ordered a phone in January. And now it's the end of October, nothing. The cable is in the house, the gray box is hanging there, done. No signal. Week 45 was now promised to me because of some distribution box. I don't care why either. Phone works well with iPhone. TV via satellite. I definitely won't order that from them. And internet via Vodafone Gigacube LTE. That's a great tip for bridging. Fast, simple, quite affordable. Karsten
