Technical room before installing screed: should the technology be painted now or later?

Hello everyone,

how did you handle it? Did you paint the technical room before installing all the technology and screed or afterwards? Both probably have their pros and cons. I can well imagine that installing the screed leaves traces on the wall behind. Also when sanitary facilities are installed. However, painting around all the installations later or partially dismantling them is certainly not so great either. What are your experiences? Thank you very much

After screed; before installation. In some corners, you will never really get access again for the rest of your life.

After installation, you can still repair the visible marks, if there are any from the installation.

That sometimes doesn't work. Many technologies (electrical, heating, heating circuit distributor, hot water storage) are installed before the screed.

Ours is still in a raw state, i.e. concrete ceiling and only plaster on the wall.

Doesn't bother at all, it's only used for laundry, drink crates, and as a technical room anyway.

Painting is really too complicated for that. Also consider that you shouldn't actually paint on fresh plaster. It should dry for a few weeks, and by then the equipment will already be installed.

We did it before the screed, 2-3 weeks after the plaster. This way, the walls are at least friendly white instead of gray, and we would no longer be able to reach half of the walls now.

Since our plaster had a very long drying time (it was plastered in January), unfortunately we only did it afterwards. Of course, it was a damn annoying job, a lot had to be masked off and naturally some pipes etc. got painted over. If possible, I would at least do it once beforehand.
