Good morning!

As part of the sampling, the sanitary installations were also discussed.
The contractually agreed service includes, among other things, the shower fitting "Ideal Standard Ceraplan surface-mounted."
This would be available to me in retail (of course without installation) for 60 euros.
Since I did not like the surface-mounted version, I opted for the same fitting as a concealed version (Ideal Standard Ceraplan III concealed).

So, this is not a particularly unusual fitting or anything like that.

This fitting would be available to me in retail for 106 euros. Of course without installation.

The company charges a price surcharge of 200 euros for this upgrade (including credit for the surface-mounted fitting).

The question now is:
Is this cost difference due to the installation method?
Is it so much more complicated to install a concealed fitting?
As a "layperson," I only see the pure fitting costs.

And tile work should be easier with a concealed version, right?

I would appreciate a short assessment from you.

Best regards

which company?
The installation company or the home construction company?

If it’s the home construction company: it’s not unusual that they want to make a profit on every additional feature. Just adding this item to the invoice is extra work for them.

I would discuss the additional features directly with the installer – it shouldn’t be excessively expensive then.

I am building with Massivhaus Mittelrhein. The selection of materials took place at the company Hamann. A protocol was kept. Now an additional charge of 200 euros is listed here. Who takes how much at which point is not clear to me.

I assume that it is a GU/GÜ?

As already mentioned: you can save a lot if you do not negotiate every additional expense such as [e.g. socket], surcharge for special sanitary equipment, floor coverings with the GU/GÜ, but only with the SUB-company that carries it out.

Our GÜ, for example, charged a 2/3 surcharge on a socket, the electrician his simple price. However, the GÜ immediately suggested to us that we should please arrange all further equipment directly with the SUBs. Separate invoices were then issued by the executing craftsman company.

Happy Easter!

In the flush-mounted version, in my opinion, an additional component is included, which is usually sold for a good 100 euros extra. It is called, for example, "iBox universal Grundkörper" and is available online for half the price.

Yes, GÜ (I still have to look up again what the differences are) I am considering whether I should take out even more. This is partly really outrageous!
