Surcharge RC2 windows and front door

RC classes only define the time that the window/door has to withstand with a certain tool. How the manufacturer achieves this is up to them. Our windows with RC2 do not come with lockable handles.

What is important is that you receive a proper certificate afterwards, showing your window/door type and the resistance class. Some manufacturers have their own resistance classes, which are then similar to RC2; you just have to trust that.

I consider €75 ambitious for RC2. For doors, RC2 costs between €300 and €600, depending on whether glass is included or not.

Currently, there are KfW subsidies for RC2. You actually get almost as much as the surcharge costs.

To my knowledge, this subsidy only applies to renovations and not to new constructions.

Definitely not for front doors. We received an approval from the KFW last week.

The grant is 455-E. It is actually described a bit oddly, as it says "Bestandsgebäude" there. However, nothing more about that can be found in the conditions. As we said, we received the approval a week ago.

Actually, this is stated everywhere in the terms, for example, it is clear and explicit in the information sheet.
