Hello dear forum members,

I have finally received the additional/extra charge offer from my general contractor. I had discovered here that since March, BAFA also funds ventilation systems, as long as they can communicate with the heat pump. For this reason, I had my general contractor include the controlled residential ventilation, which I had initially not planned for financial reasons.

Since the executing subcontractor only installs the Vaillant heat pump and I did not want to implement KNX, the ventilation system also had to be from Vaillant. Apparently, Vaillant does not have the very best reputation regarding ventilation systems – I would be interested to know if they are really poor or simply not the best.

What makes the evaluation a bit difficult is that the heat pump was also replaced compared to the standard, so that we can achieve the BAFA-required annual performance factor of 4.5 at all.

I still hope that you can tell me whether the extra charge is somewhat justified or not.

So the standard is a Vaillant Arotherm 85/3 with Unitower without ventilation system. The upgrade is: VAILLANT aroTHERM plus 75/6 A with uniTOWER plus + VAILLANT recoVair VAR 360/4 central ventilation unit including ducts/breakthroughs/additional insulation etc. + water softening system + maintenance contract

Extra charge/addendum: 16,065.67 (bo)

Through BAFA, I would get back 10,000 EUR if everything goes smoothly, so a net extra charge for me of 6,000 EUR.

I am inclined to do this as soon as BAFA basically confirms the funding. What do you think?

Thanks and regards

Tolentino

If you have no choice, then 6K Euros is already okay. You won't get another device cheaper even if you do it yourself. But you better have your recoVAIR VAR 360/4 E offered to you, otherwise, winter won't be enjoyable.

The enthalpy heat exchanger can also be retrofitted easily, and the additional cost should be roughly the same amount (700 EUR, if I'm not mistaken). I find the additional cost still reasonable, especially since the water softening system (which) is included, but I would remove the maintenance contract if possible, because both the heat pump and the ventilation system basically operate maintenance-free. Occasionally cleaning and changing filters is something you can probably manage yourself.

From my own experience, I would rather claim the latter. The integration of several Vaillant devices including app control now works somewhat, the ventilation does what it should, even though there are more efficient and quieter devices.

Grünbeck softliQ:SD18 for scale protection for refilling the heating system incl. 1 bag of salt and accessories Hmm, I think we actually talked about enthalpy. I need to ask again.

I would not be surprised if it was forgotten out of ignorance. As I said: With [Enthalpietauscher], the system costs about the purchase price of the retrofit part more.

Ouch. The GÜ forgot the VAT when compiling the total costs. That amounts to nearly 2,000 EUR in funding. I hope I can get this corrected retroactively, as it is not a change to the system, but simply a mistake. Why are there so many people who don’t even ask if they don’t know exactly?
