Hello dear forum members,
I have finally received the additional/extra charge offer from my general contractor. I had discovered here that since March, BAFA also funds ventilation systems, as long as they can communicate with the heat pump. For this reason, I had my general contractor include the controlled residential ventilation, which I had initially not planned for financial reasons.
Since the executing subcontractor only installs the Vaillant heat pump and I did not want to implement KNX, the ventilation system also had to be from Vaillant. Apparently, Vaillant does not have the very best reputation regarding ventilation systems – I would be interested to know if they are really poor or simply not the best.
What makes the evaluation a bit difficult is that the heat pump was also replaced compared to the standard, so that we can achieve the BAFA-required annual performance factor of 4.5 at all.
I still hope that you can tell me whether the extra charge is somewhat justified or not.
So the standard is a Vaillant Arotherm 85/3 with Unitower without ventilation system. The upgrade is: VAILLANT aroTHERM plus 75/6 A with uniTOWER plus + VAILLANT recoVair VAR 360/4 central ventilation unit including ducts/breakthroughs/additional insulation etc. + water softening system + maintenance contract
Extra charge/addendum: 16,065.67 (bo)
Through BAFA, I would get back 10,000 EUR if everything goes smoothly, so a net extra charge for me of 6,000 EUR.
I am inclined to do this as soon as BAFA basically confirms the funding. What do you think?
Thanks and regards
