Hello

I am new to this forum and unfortunately German is not my native language (Dutch) so sorry for spelling mistakes

Last year we built a W****house in Alsace and at the handover I found out that our hot water temperature is only 44°C.

This is due to the Stiebel/Eltron (304) air heat pump that we have.
Washing dishes with greasy pans and such is impossible, I have to boil water separately to wash dishes by hand.
Our bathroom has a 200-litre tank. The heater storage tank is 230 litres, so one person can use the bathroom and the next has to wait until the tank is reheated.
I like to shower hot, 44° is too little for me, it is okay but a bit hotter would be better...
I already notice that soap and grease residues remain in the pipe. We have been living in the house for 9 months

I am not an expert, but I think that Weberhaus should have informed us in advance about the specifications of this system. Then I would have said right away that this is not enough for us. We are also sure that we mentioned this in the preliminary talks, but of course that is nowhere on paper.

Now I have the option to additionally install a flow heater and an extra storage tank for €5000.
If we had installed this during the construction it would have been much cheaper.

I would like to know your opinion. What are my rights against W****Haus and what are other options

Thanks in advance
Jan

A dishwasher can usually also be operated with cold water and then heats the water itself with electricity. At least, that is how it is with us. Have a look in the manual or ask how the dishwasher was connected. Connecting to hot water doesn’t make sense in my opinion if you are working with low temperatures. For the shower, you can also insert a small instantaneous water heater in between. In my opinion, that costs less than the mentioned 5000 €. Legally, you are on the losing side because you bought what is stated in the contract. But I am not a lawyer and do not know what options you have. However, you have a problem if you cannot get the temperature above 44 degrees. Because a few times a year, at least to my knowledge, the pipes should be flushed with water hotter than 60 degrees to protect against Legionella, which tend to spread in standing water.

Thank you for your response. By washing dishes I meant by hand and not the machine.

The heating heats the tank up to 60° once a month but of course that does not go through the pipes.

A flow heater would be enough for the shower, but not for the bathroom.

okay, so I can set the temperature I want on my end, and I have it set to 45 degrees (Gastherme). The water is hot enough to wash pans and pots. Maybe you need to change the dish soap. Maybe it's just me, but I find temperatures above 50 degrees uncomfortable, both when showering and washing hands. When our solar system is running at full capacity, we have 60-degree hot water, and I really have to be careful not to burn my little one when washing his fingers. My tip: contact a professional plumber; they can surely offer you an affordable solution. I think Weberhaus is more expensive for such matters than an independent craftsman.

Hello,
That doesn’t matter at all, the essential is understandable! As well as you speak German, I do not understand Dutch by far ;-)
With an air heat pump, as a output value usually not more is possible unless additional help from an electric heating element. However, the latter is not very energy efficient or expensive in consumption.
That is correct, but did you ask about it? Is it agreed in writing?
Then unfortunately you are out of luck and fell for a salesperson who did not consider your special requirements!
An additional storage is not necessary. An additional instantaneous water heater is sufficient. Pay attention to devices that are suitable for high flow temperatures. Watch the flow rate!!!
Since nothing is in writing, subsequent claims are unlikely to be successful.

Best regards

Thank you for your answer €uro,

I also had little hope that I still have any rights somewhere.

At the beginning, we discussed a lot with the seller, and I have to be honest, he tried to do his job well. Unfortunately, we also had problems with Weberhaus during the preparation. Unfortunately, the contract was already suitable. (we had too much trust)
We had a difficult construction site, and the architect who made and checked the plans for Weberhaus in France did not understand their job well and repeatedly did not take our wishes into account. Also, they had no clue even though they had all the documents from the French building regulations.
This also caused us to get into a bottleneck, and the pressure on both sides increased.
There were several things discussed in the preliminary talks but not considered in the plans (this was for us not or almost not controllable)
Many were (after heavy discussions resolved)
But we are sure that we discussed this temperature, unfortunately, we cannot prove it.

I also think that Weberhaus has since put me on the red (or maybe already the black) list

I informed myself at a supplier of Viessmann in a village nearby, and they can already help me with a DLH (and possibly storage) at a cost of max €2000 (including storage).

But I would have preferred everything from one source (Weberhaus), but €5000 is not absurdly high. I also now know that prices calculated for interior fittings are at least twice as cheap before handover. Also something that is not told, but one is already told that you can always reorder after delivery.

We also still have a discussion going on about cracks in the living room. Because Weberhaus only skim-coated the walls and did not plaster them, they want to reject the warranty.

We are still far from finished, I think.
