Hi,

I have a quick question,

About 10 years ago we built on a slab.

Now a company is coming quite short notice today for planning, they want to install fiber optic into the house at some point.
Also, this year I will probably have to run a stronger power cable for a wall box/photovoltaics into the garage.

Now the question is how the cables come into the house.

From our HAR there are 3 KG pipes for the house connections going down through the slab (1x water, 1x telecommunications, 1x electricity).
I can still see the pipe for the water, it has a ring space seal inside. The other two pipes are tiled over and only the cables come out.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take pictures of the cable entry from outside back then.
What does it look like on the outside? Are the KG pipes usually pulled outside and sealed on the outside as well with a ring space seal?

Would it somehow be possible to bring fiber optic and electricity in there or is that rather impossible?

As far as I understood correctly in the information session, they want to simply pull the fiber optic up along the house wall over the slab and then lead it at a 90° angle through the outside wall into the house. Visually, a solution below the slab would of course be better.
I just don’t know if that is even doable.

This is the usual procedure here with us.
The exception is if there is an empty conduit that can be easily accessed from both sides.
For power cables, there are suitable drills, and it is the cleanest and fastest way to work.
The appearance fades into the background, only cable ducts are visible.

Angled drills between the wall and floor slabs are possible. They are just a bit more complex and cost more, but afterwards you don’t see anything outside either, since you also emerge in the ground. However, Eastern European fiber optic teams rarely do this due to a lack of time, money, and know-how. With an above-ground wall drill, they can’t really mess up or break much.

Ok, we had the appointment with the contracted company yesterday, they want to drill at an angle and come out underground. That is of course great and I hope the subcontractor will do it properly.
