Our windows will now only arrive at the end of January [emoji24] Before this was known, our site manager suggested that the drywall work might already start before the windows are installed. He doesn't see any problems here. Except, of course, that it will be a bit colder for the workers.

What do you think? We were actually concerned about moisture. But once everything is closed up and the screed is in, actually everything is moist anyway [emoji848]

The weather side is taped up, the other windows are open. So far, no more rain has come in since the roof was put on just before Christmas.

On the ground floor, a small part of the walls will be done with drywall and almost everything upstairs.

Now we have also heard from many that the screed should go in before the drywall. Can you confirm this? I can't remember anyone in our new development who had the screed before the drywall [emoji848]

Cutting slots and laying cables, as well as putting in pipes and so on, they can definitely do now already, as long as it doesn't rain inside. It's cold in the place anyway. By the time they're done with all that stuff, the windows will already be there. I would only have the plaster done once the windows are installed.

In my opinion, the interior walls must be erected before the screed, as the screed is applied room by room (with edge insulation strips at the perimeter; perimeter insulation strips). Otherwise, the wall would have to be placed on the screed, which would by no means be professional (sound insulation, expansion behavior with heated screeds, load, etc. pp.).

For drywall interior walls, often the wall is erected and boarded on one side. On the other side, only a (half) panel is attached at the bottom. Then the screed can be laid, but the wall is still open to allow further installation work later.
