Hello everyone,
I would like to hear your opinion on our planned staircase design. It is a hillside house with a staircase with landings. There are two landings, as the staircase leads from the basement to the ground floor and from there to the upper floor. So far, a steel stringer staircase with oak steps is planned. This should definitely remain from the ground floor to the upper floor and was also planned for the other part of the staircase. Now I have been advised to have the part from the ground floor to the basement formed and built solidly with oak flooring. What do you think of this suggestion? The reasoning was to avoid a dark basement hole. I thank you in advance for your contributions. Best regards
