Hello!

A few years ago, we had various stainless steel railings installed on our house.
The locksmith left us some abrasive pads and a care oil back then.
Now the abrasive pads are all used up and I want to buy new ones, but I don't know which kind (grit or similar).

Can someone recommend a pad here?

And what kind of oil was given to us? Under what name is something like that sold?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Michel,

How should we know here what your locksmith left you there?

Get a commercially available stainless steel cleaner with abrasive effect (polishing grains) and free of hydrochloric acid; with that, you should be able to get rid of the surface rust - caused by material dust from the environment - again. There are also special cleaning cloths; go to a specialized shop and get advice there ... not the hardware store around the corner.

Rhenish regards

Thank you for the first response. Of course, you cannot know what our locksmith left us there... I just thought that for the mentioned purpose there is a type of fleece that is mainly used there.

Hello Michel,

It is probably the mentioned cleaning cloths - I mean with slurry chalk - The expert knows more; so no guarantee

I only know that the fleece was on a roll. Something like this:
