stainless steel pool accessories

Hello!

We have planned an 8 x 4 liner pool with skimmer (no saltwater). Today, our pool builder offered us a quote with plastic accessories (skimmer, lights, inlets and outlets,...) and one with stainless steel accessories. If money were no object, we would choose the latter, but that’s not the case right now. Stainless steel parts cost about 50% more than plastic. My question is: What did you decide on and why?

Clearly, stainless steel always looks much better. We also have a pool of similar size. The ladder is made of stainless steel, the rest is made of plastic. The accessories have actually been in use for a few decades now. The chlorine does not seem to have affected the plastic. And if your things last "only" 15 years, you can possibly still replace them. But I don't think that will necessarily be necessary.

We also decided on the plastic version today, as the price difference is simply too large for us. Structurally, we will already create the prerequisite for an underfloor cover (which is supposed to come in a few years).
