Stabilize the slope before starting construction?

Hello everyone,

a few weeks ago we bought a plot of land and want to build a single-family house here. The plot has a slope outside the buildable area. The height difference is about 4 meters with an inclination of about 40°. The soil in the entire construction area was newly filled because contaminated soil was removed and remediated. This means that there is still no vegetation in the entire area, so the slope is not well protected against erosion.

Do you think it is absolutely necessary to do something about the slope here (and if so, what) before the house is built?

What I forgot: The house would be located in the upper part of the slope. :)

40 degrees usually hold up quite well even without much compaction - of course, the material plays a role. Simply securing it quickly with a planting net and plants along with the root system. Until it gets to the planting stage, if necessary, cover with a tarp against washing away in the rain.

Have the load from the house on the slope assessed by a professional.

The expert for the house is the structural engineer. The one for the slope is the civil engineer or a landscape gardener.

Actually, a geotechnical engineer is the right contact person. 4 m is not insignificant, topic: soil failure and uneven settlement.
