Special screed under 3.5t column lift?

Good day to all!

I want to set up a two-post lift in a newly built garage.
It is a 3.5-ton lift, so for "ordinary" mid-range cars.
The garage is already finished, now only the screed [and a few other little things] is missing.

Regarding the screed, I am currently wondering if anything special is needed here:

- Does it perhaps need a special thickness?
- Or does it need to be specially reinforced?
- Flowing or even composite screed?

The concrete slab, i.e. the garage foundation, has a minimum thickness of 25 cm, in most places even 30 cm.
The screed will later be covered with industrial flooring.

The lift manufacturer does not place any special demands on the screed. He only requires a minimum concrete foundation thickness of 20 cm.

It would be great if someone had one last piece of advice for me; now I still have the opportunity to react or correct my choice...
I have currently planned a flowing screed, laid floating on construction foil, with a thickness of about 7-8 cm.

In your opinion, would that be suitable?

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Best regards, Froma

Flowing screed? Hopefully not gypsum-based.. Otherwise, have fun drying the car before you drive it into the garage
The most cost-effective and durable option will be a simple CT screed in composite. A professional can surely tell you the thickness.

Hi

I would strongly advise against using floating screed on regular EPS. XPS might be possible as a substructure, depending on the load-bearing capacity. It should be considered that the loads from the screed are quite point-specific and must be supported by the substructure.
Why not apply the floor covering directly to the concrete?

Thank you very much for the quick responses

By "floating installation" I meant that the liquid screed would not be laid directly on the concrete slab, but on a construction foil, which will then be placed between the screed and the raw concrete slab. I think this is the conventional installation method when no insulation is used...

I am still holding on to the liquid screed because it would fit well right now, as it is already used in the house... In the house because of the underfloor heating...
No insulation will be placed under the screed in the garage...

Can the cement liquid screed withstand the point load of a - let's say - 2 ton vehicle?

Thank you again for your efforts.

What is a screed needed for in the garage?

It would have been best to smooth the floor slab with a power trowel. Then just put [Spaltklinger] on it..... Done.

Tip.... Call the [Hebebühnenhersteller] and ask.... No one there will give you any information... That would be shooting yourself in the foot if the [Hebebühne] doesn’t hold up afterwards.

Concrete slab and industrial sealing or epoxy resin coating like a parking garage floor? That's how I plan it... Screed is rather not needed there.
