Hello everyone,

we have recently become builders and are looking for as much information as possible.
I think most people feel the same way when they do this for the first time ;-)

You can get laminate from many different places on the Internet. Are these the best prices or are there possibly reliable sources abroad? (Poland, Czech Republic, ...)

Looking forward to your answers.

We still have a lot of time until then, but the more you know beforehand, the better.

The laminate will be the least of your worries in the end.

How much is/should the laminate including the underlay cost?

We chose a well-known German manufacturer (probably manufactured abroad) where we ended up below 20 euros/sqm including decent impact sound insulation and vapor barrier.

I don't know where you want to save money on that.

Hello,

for us it is about 100 sqm over 3 floors. That already adds up.

My idea is to request the work service via MyHammer and order the material myself. Are the companies on MyHammer recommendable?

I am simply looking for possibly cheap but still good sources. The developer's budget allocates 16 euros/sqm

Regards, Alex

Hm – I always have a problem with buying via the Internet. Don’t get me wrong – I do shop online quite often. But there are so many things that you should reasonably look at and feel first. Also, you shouldn’t forget the factor of advice. For me, after we built, that included the laminate (just like clothes or shoes – maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned here). Was it more expensive? No idea – maybe. But despite the discount on the listed price, we still got the skirting boards and impact sound insulation included. What’s also important here is: On the picture online, you see the laminate. Where we bought it, about 5–10 laminate boards were clicked together so you can get an impression of the surface area. For which room do you want the laminate? There are different abrasion classes that affect durability. For example, we chose higher abrasion classes in the children’s rooms compared to the bedroom and office. Many things you can only really figure out through direct advice. Lastly: I also believe that if the advice was good and the price difference isn’t too high, I would rather buy at the specialist store. For me, it’s less about supporting specialist retail and more about appreciating competent advice.
