With small children, it is really less of a problem. Later on, it becomes more of an issue; it was the same in my parents’ house. The TV was on downstairs, and upstairs it was almost just as loud to hear. That gets annoying eventually...

But until then, you still have time. I think there shouldn’t be any problems with it for the first 10 years.

Congratulations.

At first, nothing at all. Even poor sleepers are insensitive to noise.

So my little one is still very sensitive to noise at almost 2 years old. It is getting better, but we still have to be careful and should avoid things like vacuuming.
And it is true: when they are broken, they sleep. Unfortunately, children recover quickly and then after 4-5 hours the sleep becomes lighter. And that’s when it really sucks if the neighbor comes home with his tuned Golf...

Regarding the specific case: in the beginning, the little one will sleep with you anyway. That gives you a feeling for how much noise disturbs sleep. And then there is still time to change a door.

I would take a pragmatic approach and simply
- use better doors
- make the walls thicker
Nothing else.

Every child is different. Can walk well, can walk poorly.

But by the time the children are older, YOU don’t want to have to hear them anymore, because YOU will never have peace on the sofa.

Our little one even slept during the first 3-4 months when the vacuum cleaner was running.. Then it changed, the first 2 hours the hissing of the soda bottle was enough to wake her. First New Year's celebration not awake for even a second although some neighbors overdid it. Now at 2 years old it is good fortunately
